Brigid, the exalted one, Celtic Goddess of fertility, motherhood, poetry, smithing, wisdom, healing, domesticated animal, fire, sacred wells, the dawn, crafts, trades and brewing. Imbolc is the early February Celtic fire festival of Spring, increasing livestock, weather divination, and seeking the blessings of Brigid. Also known as Candlemas and Groundhog's Day. We follow Brigid through time as she inspires St, Brigit.

Welcome, dear listeners, to the Sacred Source,  the podcast where we delve into the enchanting world of pagan deities, exploring their myths, symbols, and significance in ancient and modern spirituality. I'm your host Peter Kowalzik, and today, we embark on a journey to discover the profound magic of the Celtic goddess Brigid, revered as the keeper of the sacred flame and patroness of creativity, healing, and inspiration.

Across the misty hills of Ireland, where the veil between worlds grows thin, Brigid reigns as a beloved goddess, her presence woven into the very fabric of the land. As a triple deity embodying the maiden, mother, and crone aspects, Brigid encompasses the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, her essence infusing the changing seasons and cycles of nature.

Born of the union between the Dagda, the mighty father god, and the poetess goddess Boann, Brigid's birth was foretold by a radiant pillar of fire, heralding her divine destiny. From this sacred flame, Brigid draws her power, igniting the spark of inspiration within poets, musicians, and artisans, and healing the body, mind, and spirit with her gentle touch.

Brigid's influence extends beyond the realm of creativity, touching upon the sacred mysteries of the natural world. As the guardian of sacred wells and springs, she bestows her blessings upon those who seek solace and renewal, offering healing waters that flow with the wisdom of the ages.

Yet, Brigid's most enduring legacy lies in her role as a protector of hearth and home. In ancient times, families would honor her by keeping a perpetual flame burning in her name, symbolizing the warmth of community and the enduring bonds of kinship. Today, modern pagans continue this tradition, kindling their own Brigid's flames as a symbol of hope and resilience in times of darkness.

As we reflect on the timeless wisdom of Brigid, let us embrace her teachings of creativity, healing, and community. May her sacred flame illuminate our path, guiding us through the cycles of life with grace and courage.

Thank you for joining us on the Sacred Source Podcast. Be sure to tune in next time as we explore the captivating stories of other pagan goddesses, each offering their own unique gifts and blessings to those who seek their guidance. Until then, may the light of Brigid's flame burn bright in your hearts.

Farewell.
