Ganesha

Everyone loves Ganesh! And with good reason; happy and kind-hearted, he aids all who call upon him.

He is called Vighneshvara, the destroyer of obstacles. People often ask him for siddhi, success in undertakings, and buddhi, intelligence. He is worshipped before any venture is started. He is also the God of education, knowledge and wisdom, literature, and the fine arts.

Ganapati or Ganesha, the Lord of Categories: All that can be counted or comprehended is a category (gana). The classifications through which the relations between the macrocosm and the microcosm can be understood is called the lord-of-categories (Ganapati).
