Peace Goddess. Love. Harmony. Compassion.

Sometimes all our efforts to bring images to the world that inspire devotion to deity seem to be not enough. The Sacred Source artisan community in India felt compelled, by the troubling nature of our times, to try to do more. This moving image was created by our artisans as a memorial to peace. A classical form goddess cradles the green man / earth in her arms. She is weeping in sorrow for war, suffering, famine, disease, religious intolerance, and harm to the environment. She tenderly embraces the earth with love for all of creation. The sorrow is deep, but where there is love there is hope. May the Goddess guide us toward peace.
